MaMaMagnet: Fridge
A playful word game inspired by fridge magnet poetry. Arrange magnetic letter tiles to form words, unlock new tile sets, and build increasingly creative phrases — calm, tactile, and surprisingly addictive. Available on both iOS and Android.
Poetry in your pocket
MaMaMagnet: Fridge is a casual word game that recreates the satisfying tactile feel of rearranging magnetic letters on a fridge door. Players drag and snap letter tiles to form valid words, earning new themed tile sets as they progress.
The core engineering challenge was building a responsive drag system that feels weighty and physical — tiles accelerate, decelerate, and snap with momentum — without sacrificing frame rate on low-end devices. I implemented a custom input manager with inertia simulation to achieve this.
The word validation engine supports multiple languages and is backed by a compact dictionary structure that loads instantly on cold start. The game ships with full localization support and is live on both stores globally.
